Now in its sixth year, D&AD Shift with Google – part of the D&AD’s ongoing New Blood initiative – has selected our incredible senior designer, Shruti Shyam, as a Mentor for its 2022 Program.
D&AD Shift with Google is dedicated to finding the best raw creative talent – artists, writers and creative thinkers – that were not able to complete art school or college but have vision, talent and tons of potential. With an intensive four-month, night school program, the students are prepared to enter a creative agency with confidence.
As a Mentor, Shruti will provide 1:1 support, advice and guidance to a Shifter as they progress through the program; working on their creative briefs, career progression goals and, ultimately, navigate the industry on completion of Shift.
Shruti said, ‘I love that D&AD Shift with Google is challenging existing expectations and assumptions about where and how creative talent can be found and nurtured. Having worked in the US and India, across projects large and small, I hope my varied experience can help inspire and support this year’s Shifters. I am honored to be a part of the program.”
Since Shift’s launch in 2016, the program has trained 142 creatives in London and New York who have gone on to work in agencies including AKQA, Design Bridge, BBC Creative, Iris and Havas.
