Olivia Larsen
Senior Designer
I was born in Italy, grew up in Denmark, and came to the US in 2016 (sadly without any accent whatsoever). Having lived in 4 different countries and grown up between two unique cultures really influenced the way I view things as a designer. I gained a broad view and understanding of how to flex a design to fit the needs of the client, combining my Italian storytelling with my Scandinavian eye for detail. Analyzing people within their environments is a constant source of inspiration, along with a well-rounded project and a killer strategy deck, which can really get my creative juices flowing.
I always carry with me a nice mix of dry humor and sarcasm, and you can always count on me if you need someone to let loose on the dance floor. I’m a big advocate for constructive criticism and feedback sessions, and the fact I truly feel like I am around friends at Pearlfisher has helped foster such a nice environment to grow in.
I used to be on the national sprint kayak team when I lived in Italy, and even though I now use a rowing machine, deep down I wish I had the guts to row in the Hudson River!
Outside of work I’ve been trying out as many Italian recipes as I can and learning to generally be a better cook. I also love looking at Danish furniture design–my Danish design senses tickle whenever I spot a piece out and about–but I think my wallet would hate me if I acted on it every time.
Traveling is also a huge source of inspiration as I tend to stray away from the touristy path and try integrating into the cultural environments. I’m also a big fan of making little gifts for friends and loved ones so you’ll probably catch me making a print or linocut in my free time.
