Shruti Shyam
Senior Designer
Before moving to the US for graduate school, I grew up and worked in various cities in India. Living in both places has made me appreciate the dichotomy between historic traditions and more contemporary design thinking. I’ve been lucky in my career to work on projects both large and small. The more open and free creative briefs remind me to be confident in designing solutions. Whereas projects with much larger scope cause me to take a step back, bring together several viewpoints and create cohesive, global systems. Creating design project ideas today is all an accumulation of the experiences I have had throughout my life.
Outside of the studio, I’m usually on the move. My poor sense of direction is a match made in wanderlust heaven with New York City. I never fail to get lost (yes, even despite the grid of the city) in some new patio, park or museum and I’m alright with that.
